Job Search Assistance

Once you are ready to begin your job search, Positive Resource Center's Employment Specialists are available to help you succeed. Individual meetings with an Employment Specialist are available to discuss your goals and provide job search help and support.

For clients who are currently seeking employment and need some guidance, successful job search assistance is the focus of each Employment Specialist's work. There are many types of job search assistance available. Some possibilities include:

  • Vocational Workshops and Seminars

Positive Resource Center's vocational workshops and seminars will give you the tools you need to successfully explore new career fields and master the job search skills you will need to advance your career or re-enter the workforce. Series include the popular Mondays@10 Job Search Skills Workshops and the Career Compass Workshops.

  • Staffing and Recruiters

Opportunities may be available to you through a staffing service or recruiter. We work with a number of staffing agencies on a regular basis who have demonstrated their sensitivity and commitment to working with the HIV affected community.

  • Job Postings and Openings

Positive Resource Center regularly receives postings of available positions from various companies and agencies throughout the area. Employment Specialists also receive "job orders" from employers seeking to fill positions. These jobs range from supplemental work to long-term regular employment situations.

  • Internet Job Listings

Many companies make employment opportunities available through a variety of web sites. Registered Employment Services clients can make use the Internet in our computer lab during open lab time as well as in our Job Search Center.

The following is a very brief list of a few web sites that we have found helpful for locating various types of job postings.

Post Job Search Assistance Support

Post job search assistance is available to clients who are having some sort of challenge in their employment situation and need advice on advocating for themselves or need for an Employment Specialist to advocate for them with an employer.
